Hey guys and gals, I have a problem with my car. It won't start under normal conditions. By that I mean that it won't start like it should with the clutch in and turning the ignition key. If I use the throttle it'll start right up but won't stay idling. But, sometimes it will stay idling at about 200rpm's and if I rev it while it's doing this the rpm's will come back down to 1000rpm's and begin to fluctuate between 1000 and 2000rpm's. If I keep the rpm's up it runs fine and is driveable until I need it to idle then it kills its-self. I already spent all afternoon trying to figure this out. I'm getting fuel and spark and I checked all my fuses and electrical connections and they all look good. I checked for vaccum leaks and found none. The only thing I can think of is it's some sort of electrical prob. Mabey MAF or O2 sensors? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like unmetered air leak, unplug the maf and try starting it.

edit: just looked at your profile, check the 1" air hose from the iac valve to the intake tube, it is probably unhooked.

Thanks Maddog I checked that and my maf and that tube to my IAC but was working fine but my car runs like a champ now after me doing absolutly nothing. I think it was just some really bad gas 'cause my problems started last week when I filled up at the Shell station on the corner of Artic and Tudor. It just got really bad on Wed. Thank you for the advice though.
