I've read about people adjusting their clutch peddle before but never have seen info on doing this or did I know if what I want to accomplish was possible. The car has a v7 suretrac 6 speed and exedy twin plate clutch.

the clutch was purchased used off a local guy with 6k on it. put it in my car and it made no noise at all and i mean none at all (every exedy twin i have heard made noise when clutch in) off the line the clutch was rough and the car would shake. i lived with it and the clutch held extremely well under full throttle. then i let my friend drive the car and he stalled it about 4 times and was really rough with it. after letting him drive the car the clutch became like stock smooth. i have no clue what happened, dunno if he shocked it or what.

now the strange thing. if i put the clutch peddle to the floor the clutch will make the sound a twin disk makes when cluthced in but it's louder than other that ive heard. then when i let out to start driving it make a really loud screech. i then noticed that if i only push the clutch in about 3/4 of the way it doesnt make any noise, i can go in and out of gear, and it is still smooth.

is there anyway i can adjust the peddle so that when i push it to the floor it will only do the amount of travel that i normally would do now only pushing it in about half way. it's not that big of a deal but it would make measuring the distance i need to push the clutch in easier. it just seems right now the peddle is pushing too far and the clutch is doing something weird.

i dont know a whole lot about clutches and what not...but i know in my old subaru whenever i would let my foot off the clutch it would chirp like hell...then when i would push it in again..not depressing it, just the freeplay....it would be quiet and that my friend is a bad throwout bearing...i've never attempted at adjusting it figuring it would only make things worse...dont take any of my advise literal tho cuz like i sayd im only learning myself...but if u look at a diagram of how a clutch works u'll see what bearings are doing what when the clutch is engaged and not engaged
