Just got a usdm 6 speed, it does not have the piece that the half shafts go into with the pin. How do i take this piece out of my 5speed and put it into the 6 speed? (the piece that the halfshafts connect into/knobs that come out of the transmission)

i beleive you have to take the tranny apart to take them out. Ive never done it or seen it done, but i think i remember hearing that.

Well does anyone know for sure? I think you may be right kax but i want to be positive before cracking that thing open! Does that mean I will have to open up the 6 speed as well to get it back in?

well it looks like i need new front axles for this bs.

Don't bother opening the 5MT. The axle stubs won't fit. You want to buy the 2004 6MT stubs, circlips, and seals. See this thread (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=967472&highlight=stubs) for the part numbers. No need to open the 6MT case. The stubs will pop in from the outside.
