Yup it's true "or soon to be true". My engine is shot.........The reason you ask??? Well I guess it didn't help when I down shifted to 7500rpm when trying to slow down when a cop hit me with his radar as I was going 130.......now I have a very loud knock/ping when ever I get above 2500rpm or above 50mph, and its getting worse by the hour.


Yes it sucks......but now it gives me a reason to throw a STI engine in her :banana: so come monday my RS shall turn in to a RSTI :devil:

man, sorry hear that.. i did the same thing to
my honda once.. at the track.. accidently shifted from 3rd to 2nd..
while goin 98 mph.. rpm went from 7 to almost around the gauge..15 maybe
scared the crap out of me.. :furious:

LOL, you guys...I know that isnt good when you downshift into the wrong gears, been there, done that in a Ranger with a loose tranns shifter, heh.

I know the scort would make it to 130, even faster, seen that **** going to slowdotna, but that was with a bit more power...that rs musta been maxd out.

I got to 120 ON THE BACKROADS OF THE YUKON TERRITORY and that was it.

For the skeptics, An RS can possibly to 130. I did 127 ON GRAVEL in my '99 RS back in the day somewhere between Delta Junction and Tok. Needed some miles to get to that speed though.
