I have the ZT-2 that I want to install and interface with Street Tuner and there are a couple things that maybe someone can help me on the install....
Street Tuner supports the ZT-2 and can log EGT, and throttle position and boost......
SOOOOOoooooooooo......can I 'split' the EGT signal from an Autometer probe to the ZT-2 input AND the 52mm gauge input---ie...use both at the same time????
...can the MAP signal from the stock sensor be used by the ZT-2 and if so, where would be the best place to tap that??? or what would be a good, cheap, boost sensor to use with it???
....what wire to tap for RPM signal(0-5v square wave)?
...also, any input on installing/using the ZT-2 by itself or with AP+ST would be appreciated :alien:

supposedly the egt signal is VERY weak, i know zeitronix doesnt recomment splitting the current
hope it works out well for you

...thanks alex :D .......I gotta do all my electrical installs soon and I'm wanting to try to use the regular gauge and log without having to install another probe......
I ordered another harness 'cuz I'm gonna make one 'portable' so I can easily install it as just a WB in another vehicle, temporarily ;)
I'm gonna try to move the head unit down to the(now) empty dash slot and mount the ZT-2 display unit over the upper slot using a hinge so I can just swing it up out of the way to access the slot----I wear glasses and that is my glasses spot ;)

Anyone have a contact number for Zeitronix? I'm getting very little help for issues on my zt-2 from them.

I got two of the three fixed. Funny how when you complain, suddenly things happen (coincidence for sure).
My last remaining problem is high EGTs. I'm trying to determine if it's just the sensor reading off (like the boost was) or if they are that high in reality. I'm considering a different type of thermocouple to see if there are any differences.

I installed my ZT-2 and ST on my own. A couple things...does your laptop have a serial output? Mine did not so I had to get two serial>USB adapters. Don't go cheap on these.
The serial end of the Cobb OBDII plug is actually wired a little different than normal. I first bought a cheapo internet Serial>USB adpater and it did not work with the ST. After more research I went and bought an IO Gear one from Best Buy and it did work. Fortunately the cheapo one worked with the ZT2 (IO gear works with both ST and ZT2).
Make sure you properly install the drivers for the adapters from the get-go. Also, if all the settings are not accurate within the programs, they will not work properly (ie com ports, Baud rate, etc.) I tested them and set there properties individually (first Zeitronix Data Logger, then ST), one at a time to test them. Then re-set them together. Becuase I use a variety of USB devices and the com ports get changed all the time, I have to re-set my port settings within the ST everytime I plug in.
I have managed to run a few logs with the ST and ZT2 combined, it's pretty cool.
Regarding the high EGTs: The numbers on my ZT2 screen and the numbers shown on the ST are slightly different. My ZT2 screen never shows me anything higher than mid 1500s, whereas my ST logs with the ZT2 will show me in the mid/low 1600s. My AFRs are in the high 10s per the ZT2, so it is my assumption that the ZT2 screen is the accurate number.
