i've been hearing interesting stories on the cobb programming.. but its
always so hard to pick out whats biased and whats not....
any opinions welcome.. i did some things incorrectly with my previous built
A4 before doing it right.. im really looking to avoid anything like that at all and do it right from the beginning with my 06 sti..
thanks in advance and this seems like a cool spot on the web.

my cobb stage 2 STi is great. Definitly a difference. Either route you go though, you will eventually get bored with the power. So think in terms of, what your future plans are in the next several years.

The ability to do further mods is definitely a needed option. I can only really give u advice on the Cobb as that is what i run.
Look around at tuners in ur area, what will they tune???
This is important as u more than likely will upgrade more and more as u get used to the power. However, i will say that i have had my 277 whp WRX for about a month now and i think i will stay with it for quite some time.
I like the Cobb, but if ur not going to run their exact mods, u will need a ProTuner in ur area or PDX tuning or even get their Street Tuner software.

yes yes.. i know about the eventual need for more..
im suspension first, enjoy the stock sti power for a bit..
as far as cobb, they are based 15mins from my house here in slc.. so that is a positive.
it just seems i have read better stories on the vishnu numbers and reliability..
stg2 power with the right suspension for street/track/canyons should be doing VERY well.
by the way.. i am loving this car after 3days.. cant post pics it seems but, its a white o6, tags removed on rear.. i figure you can picture it from the description.. haha.
thanks.

ANY and ALL off-the-shelf maps have their share of problems but that is the nature of the beast. A protune is the best route to take if you're worred about reliability.

hey just because its close bye, doesnt mean its the best..
whats the average price difference in a pro-tune compared to an off the shelf map and of course what are differences?
from what i know, its tuned specificaly to your mods or how you've planned them out?

Nothing wrong with OTS if u do not deviate from their mods.
As for me, i love my Protuned WRX!!!
