View Full Version : With WRX front brakes, will RS spare tire fit?

Didn't have any luck searching, so here's a really quick one. And this just came to me out of the blue...

I have WRX fronts and Legacy rears (rotors/brackets) on my '00 RS. With the stock spare. Shouldn't be a problem clearing the rears, with the spare wheel/tire, but how about the front? Do I need a WRX spare?

If so, I will find one. If not, carry on then. :D

There's nothing fun about getting a flat tire.

True, but even less fun, in all the frustration, to jack the car up twice just because my spare won't fit.

And I guess that's that's my answer, that it doesn't fit?

I'm sure I can find one free or cheap from someone who took it out for racing.

Well, "uhh," because my car's in the garage, and I'm in here in my dress clothes still, and posting is a lot easier. ;)

There it is. Thanks!

Perhaps this will offer some explanation, I'd guess the RS spare is similar to my old 97 OBS's. If you were in Alaska, I'd have a free wrx spare tire for you. :)

If I had the time and money, honestly I'd drive up there. I'd love to drive to AK once or twice.

I think NASIOC could mark that down as the longest drive to pick up a free part. :D
