that is an autronic standalone with map conversion.
just got it in and got the car fired up.
just need to get it on the dyno and tune it out.

is that a special kit for the autronic or does it come with that option? I just bought one so curious.

silvialost

not a special kit
pretty much all autronics come with an internal map sensor and an intake air temp sensor that runs off the maf wires.

meh on the picts is a circuit board that fits inside the stock ecu case

what i realllly would love to see is a screen shot of the timing map when your done tuning ..

please

silvialost

Im pretty sure i can arrange that
the main reason i got this thing was to have control over timing

Jaxx

dam reading comprehension is at a all time low in this thread

autronic is a stand alone ecu
it uses a speed density vs maf
there is a nice plug n play version for the ej20G

kbahus

Yes, thus why I asked for pics, I want to see the stand alone unit. No biggy though. Autronic also makes a relacement board as well for the classic Imprezas.

for pics go to
http://www.autronic.com/page_files/mitsubishi_subaru.htm

this is a replacement for a classic impreza.
i didnt know the ej20gs were that new.
who else makes a plug n play for a ej20g.

I've got a Power FC for my EJ20g, but I haven't installed it yet. From what I've read, it's not as good as something like an Autronic, but it's still a great EM option that's a helluva lot cheaper (I actually got mine from an Ebay store in Japan for $690 + shipping, brand new). I researched several possibilities, including the Link, and the Power FC just seemed like the most bang for the buck. If you've got the moolah to spare, though, get the Autronic.

i think there is also the F con V Pro for the older cars too, but autronic is the best imo.

I wonder how difficult that Power FC is going to be to tune. Please keep us posted as I have been considering for my swap (if it actually will run).

from what I've heard it's just time consuming to tune a FC.

what about us states taht have to deal with emmissions? will taht setup throw a CEL / MIL? im wondering becaiuse thats what I want to swap into my 96 wagon!

Jaxx
04-24-2006, 11:25 AM
then an ej20G is not for you .. get a 205

shipjumper
04-24-2006, 03:39 PM
ugh....

see, I dont wanna do all that hassle of wiring, gas tank sensors, etc...

its a pity too, as the 96 impreza has all the same sensors etc as the EJ22T from my 91 legacy turbo, but no OBDII coding in the ECM...

Im thinking I will be able to drop in a EJ22T and piggyback an emanage, and life will be good. then the EJ20G intake manifold and IC, turbo will follow... that way I will have the IAC moved to the drivers side AWAY from the turbo

Jaxx
04-24-2006, 06:31 PM
yes a 96 does have obd-2

wiring on a ej22t is actually worse the ej22ts were weird engines

you will ahv wished that you used stock em it soooo much better actualy works when you want it to

shipjumper

maybe ill stick with my original plan and get a 93-95 impreza and do a full swap and not have to worry...
