Hello all,

I have been installing an 04 STi Engine in my 98 Leg for the past couple of months, and I have a couple of weird issues that I need to fix before she will be able to be reassembled and road worthy.

Issue 1: The fuel pump runs constantly when the ignition is ON and the car only runs for a few seconds before becoming starved. I hear a whoosh sound underneath the intake manifold and I am assuming it is running all the fuel back through the return without maintaining a head at the injectors. Any suggestions?

Issue 2: The ECU / Harness seems to have a faulty connection, when I move the ECU the relays kick on and off like there is a bad connection. Typical places to start looking? With the power off, I ran a continuity check from the back of the connectors (mainly electric throttle relay, as that was the one kicking on and off) to the pin inside the ECU (I took the cover off), but it is very hard to recreate and happens 30% of the time.

Any help would be appriciated, I wanna drive it bad!!

I did think of one possible reason for the ECU wiring studder, have any of you tested the pinout connections via safety pin on the end of a multi-meter? I would have never thought that the safety pin diameter would be that much bigger (maybe 25%) than the pins on the ECU enough to actually break a connection, but I don't know, thats why I'm asking. Thanks,

That's the first thought that came to my head... Was possibly the pins being loose in the ecu... Second thought is a loose splice... In all the swaps we've done, we've never needed to splice a wire within 24" of the ECU... I'll talk to you about it more on AIM tonight.

Also, when using the ohm meter on wires, you're always supposed to check from the wire side, not from the side where terminals go, unless you've got something close to the same size as the pins that go into the connector.

Look for me on aim around 6pm pacific time... We'll talk then
