I commend everyone who got scammed for doing the legal route. But honestly I'd have banned together and payed him a visit. Even if you show up and he "doesn't" have the money. I gaurantee you can "make" him sell his car and everyone could be repayed.

Hell his car is really nice I'll give you $10grand for it. That should get everyone repayed shouldn't it??

i wa hoping tat by the time i read all 10 pages, would have some word on this guy and if his scamming days are over. i feel you, but in my opinion, some one should fin a way to scam him and for a lot!!!
like they say in spanish
"ladron que robra ladron, 100 anos de perdon"
i guess the best non literal translation is "thief who robs thief, 100 years of relief" actually it the last part literally should be 100 years of forgiveness.

on the subject of scamming my mom got scammed out of money for a tv buy a black man when i was a kid. what got me mad was that he gave a pity story about his family, had the tv wrapped up with fake guarantee pamplets. she talked to my grandma to pitch in to collect the 80 bucks, took the tv home and it was a busted screen and no buttons. i hope that guy got it in the end.
but the wierd part and now that i have been through some stuff this passage makes sense
" the best revenge is complete forgiveness"
why? nothing is worse when you have concience(sp?) for what you did and some one has the heart to forgive you. makes one feel even worse.

But i completely understand, justice has to be done. he has to reap what he sows. any way keep us posted. i sure would like to know that his days are numbered.
good luck to all who have been scammed, but like i said he needs to be scammed in the hardest of ways.

Sorry guys, nothing yet. I get emails and snail mail from time to time from the FBI that say that they are aware of my case and are working on it, and to please be patient... I don't really know what else to do, he has a Myspace page, go friend him and spam him, it appears that he still checks it... I tried to add him as a friend, he won't acknowledge it...

whats his myspace address?

It's a couple pages back, but it doesn't matter... he has made it private so you have to be one of his "friends" to see it! I'm sure anyone who hits him up to be friends he is going to suspect them of being from Nabisco and he will deny! To bad they always do that... he looked like a real tool though.

Here is a quick way someone interested could find out if this is his car... here is the vin, listed right on the ebay auction: JF1GD29692G506836 I don't know if this will help any of you guys looking to get money back, but if the car is registered the vin might help locate him.

Actually, everything from that car has been stolen, EVERYTHING. Oh and 10 grand  ?!? Try over 50 grand. He's been doing this for years.

and I just got mail from Columbus FBI

For everyone that had been scammed by John Kellum, a Federal Grand Jury in Oxford, Mississippi indicted him today on a thirteen-count indictment. I received a phone call this evening from F.B.I. Special Agent Jay Burton informing me of the news. This is long overdue and I am sorry it took so long for this to come about. Thanks to each and everyone that supplied information in this case helping bring about the indictments. As soon as I learn he has been sentenced, I will let you know. The court system is slow, so be patient. Thanks again.

Good news!!! Sgt. Gary Moore contacted me about John Kellum:

"I was just notified by F.B.I. Special Agent Jay Burton that John Kellum was arrested this evening at 3:30 p.m. in Gulfport, MS. He is currently being held in the Stone County Jail (MS) awaiting an initial appearance on a 13-count indictment tomorrow in the Southern District Federal Court. They will set him a court date and bond.

Everybody who lost money to this guy needs to contact the agent in charge of the investigation. When the crook is sentenced and eventually released, his terms of probation/supervised release will require that he pay restitution to all of his victims.

Also, when he is charged and convicted, the greater the number of victims, the higher the sentence he will receive. ALL victims must call the case agent and advise him of their loses.

Props to NASIOC members for banding together and actually putting someone in the real world in jail! This should be a note to all scammers that NASIOC dosnt put up with anything and executes it to the fullest extent! Good Job guys the biggest part of the battle is over.:disco:

I have read this entire thread, and I MUST say, that this is VERY bad advice.

Show up at his door?

What if the f$cker has a .50 cal rifle? Or an AR-15?

Is this really worth A) Your life or B) Going to priosn over?

Seriously, persue legal action immediately.

Don't be a dipstick and get hurt or injure him!

This thread would CERTAINLY be all the evidence needed to prove you were the assailant.

Also: What means was it shipped by?

If it was not shipped the USPS, that's NOT mail fraud. It's just fraud. Internet fraud, perhaps as well.

Do you have PROOF that this is the motor he sold you? I.E., photos he emailed, or a signed document with the vin/serial number of the motor?

If you do, this is an open and shut case.

Contact your local attorney general, and see what recourse you have. This guy is likely to have a history of ripping folks off.

If all else fails, think of this as an expensive course in the school of life.

Kharma will bite that crook badly. It always happens! :furious:

Get real.

A six months to year, max.

Unless he raped someone while stealing their FMIC.

There are people who sodomize babies walking among us after two years in the pen. They still have Gerber on their willies, and are allowed to get out.

There's not room enough for all of the sickos in the world. The govt really could care less if you are dumb enough to trust a dude selling isht on the web forums.

My guess is he cops to fraud or grand theft/nonviolent, and walks out of court with a 2yr suspended sentence. Hopefully, he'll do something again, and end up serving at least a year of that.

This is true... My car was stollen by a car dealership, not only my car but 65 other cars. I was the first plantiff that could get Alabama to go after the dealership. The ring of theft was broad. After all was said and done the owner got a 17 year suspended sentence and has to pay each of the plantiffs restitutuin. In my case $19,500, since I was the key plantiff I get my restitution first at $99 a month I will die before it is all paid and the others will be SOOL because the dealer will probably die.

They pleaded guilty to 65 counts of "Theft by Deception" a much lesser charge than 65 counts of Grand Theft of Auto.

That was a wonderful day when the police showed up at the dealership with around 30 tow trucks and a toter to impound every car and the office.

The entire story is posted some place in the archives.
