I doubt there would be noticeable difference from one to the other. I'm probably going to go with the full pulley set because it uses the stock belts and I have a stereo in my car that I don't want to underdrive. The UR is cheaper though...

here is what i just posted in the NW Forum about my N1 thoughts

---

Well, it's been 2 weeks since i put on my N1 pulley set and de-snorkled my car.

The pulleys were relatively easy to install(thanks again dave!) and made a rather large change in throttle response and 1,2,3 gears...in addition to taking off that god awful silencer in the wheel well, i am quite impressed with the power in my car as of late.

How much faster? i dunno...but it together they made a huge difference from before..when you step on the gas in 3rd, the tach actually moves!! I tried a theory the other night going up a hill and sure enough..at the top of it i was going 7 miles a hour faster than i had done previously...1st and 2nd gear made the biggest difference though...the engine doesnt bog like it used to..At stop lights i don't have to blip the throttle and slip the clutch a little to get going..i just go...no bog...1st gear goes by very quickly(in referrence to before) and 2nd is just as fun...

Engine braking is great now...before i tried to engine brake at a red light..now it actually slows down significantly. Also unlike the UD pulleys, i get no dimming..

Overall i am very pleased with my "new" car and it's performance..I even got to play with a boxster on the freeway(older one, not an S)..he never pulled away even after "puffs" of carbon out his exhaust, and of course i had to emberrass him on the NE 8th offramp chicane..lol..he just looked and smirked...I'm starting to like this whole performance aspect of the scooby now that i'm done with my other mods...

You can tell that Larry is on vacation or he would of been in on this thread already.

The N1 set can be found at N1 at ImprezaRS.com (http://www.imprezars.com/product2.htm#pulley)

N1 all the way...the whole set gives you the same gains you'd achieve by underdriving, and none of the drawbacks. do a search in the car parts review section...i posted a rather lengthy review of them...make sure to take a look before you install them. ;)

Why not do both... get the whole set and underdrive the crank as well.

Why has no-one thought of this before? :D.

I love my UOR pulley...Wouldnt trade it in for a N1 pulley set. No dimming lights but probably the same power 'release' that the N1 set gives.

why not do both?

seems like a large waste of money for negligable gains...
