View Full Version : WTB: 1g DSM
Silver571 04-10-2006, 05:57 PM Title says it all pretty much. Looking to buy a cheap (preferably unmolested) 1g dsm (eclipse, talon).
Looking to pay no more than 1500. And it has to be a manual tranny. Let me know if you know any for sale! Thanks

How much you looking to get for it?
knife 04-12-2006, 01:29 PM The car has run low 12s on the stock sidemount intercoolers.. hehe...
knife 04-12-2006, 01:31 PM Oh yeah.. and the motor has been rebuilt with the 1st gen/2nd gen internals and has a set of custom crower cams. It needs a FMIC and it can run much much much faster. I'll see if I can dig up a spec sheet. In a nutshell, the owner got bored of it.

knife 04-12-2006, 03:04 PM Waiting on the owner of said vehicle to call me back and let me know what he is asking for it. It has been sitting back here for a bit just gathering dust basically. Lol.
Silver571 04-12-2006, 04:16 PM Haha, nice. Just let me know... any idea at all what he might be wanting?
knife 04-12-2006, 05:03 PM Ok.. here are all the details.. it is a 1991 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. I talked to him a little while ago and he is just over this car. I'm trying to convince him to buy an sti as he is in the market for a new car right now. He told me 2500 and you can come pick it up, which I told him was a bit low, but whatever, its not my car, lol.

Silver571 04-12-2006, 05:10 PM Where is it located?
knife 04-12-2006, 05:11 PM Pflugerville (North end of austin)
Silver571 04-12-2006, 05:12 PM Hmm, ok. Also, what color is it and what is the interior and ext condition?
knife 04-12-2006, 05:14 PM Exterior needs some work. Its not beat up, but typical 15 year old paint quality and fading is present. Its maroon on top with the gray skirts on the bottom. The wheels are dark gray as well. If you pm me an email address I will send you a couple of pics. Interior is fine. I'll have to actually go look in it again.

finnRex 04-12-2006, 11:02 PM Shoulda bought my Galant from last year, foo! FWIW, they're maintenance queens. If you don't mind that, go for it.

darkROAM_1 04-14-2006, 03:24 AM sometmies, I would much rather do maintenance on dsm's than my subie. Then again, I know more about the 2gs like my old TSi AWD than I do my WRX. It's scary under that hood, but it's starting to make some sense.
Still got my boost issue. /random ****.
On topic: what about a Laser RS that needs some intake parts to get running right. My friend is selling for 180 b/c it was given to him and that's what he paid for the tune up minus other things that need fixing. I'll try and see if I can get pics up by Monday, if you don't mind NA. There is a guy that said he put the full awd drivetrain/ powertrain into a RS.

Really? The only hard thing about Subie's is the spark plugs. And if you got a couple wiggle sockets/extensions, you're good as gold. I've gotten the spark plugs on WRX's down to about 20 minutes with air tools, 30 without.
Subie's are really easy to work on overall.

Silver571 04-15-2006, 02:11 PM hmmm, anyone know of a 2g chassis laying around?
