View Full Version : When pulling the engine, which Engine mount bolts to pull? Eric SS 10-03-2001, 07:20 PM I'm getting ready to take out the engine and am curious which engine mount bolts I should pull. Should I disconnect the bolts that go into the block and leave the mounts stationary or should I take off the nut that bolts the engine mount to the chassis and pull out the mounts still connected to the block? thanks :) Eric North Ursalia 10-03-2001, 09:03 PM Your life will be greatly simplified when you reinstall the engine if you leave the mounts bolted to the engine and pull the nuts off of the 2 crossmember bolts. I remember how much of a pain it was to put the STi mounts in the first time :) Eric subachad 10-04-2001, 03:46 PM Hey I had to do that last night... Lift the stupid motor, just to get a missing bolt replaced in the oil pan, talk about a pain in the arse. Jack up the car so i can lay under it, loosen the two motor mount bolts from the chassis, lift the moter and dink around with it for a few to get the bolt in. Chad 93 1.8T |
