View Full Version : Add on equipment??
Jay Hollingworth 10-03-2001, 07:59 PM Hey Everyone
I literally just bought my new Impreza WRX Wagon, and I'm having a hard time finding one particular thing for it. Does anyone know where I can find clear tailights? Also, how hard is it to pull off the roof rack cross bars? Last question... is there a longer back wing/spoiler? OK, I think that's all of em. Oh, wait.... rims/wheels... I heard $1600 was about as good as you could get for 17s. Is this true? (i'm talking decent stuff) Alright then. Sorry to ramble on. Peace.
Jay
mitch808 10-03-2001, 08:10 PM Clear back lights? Damn man don't make it into a honda! If anything, change the bulbs not the whole housing.
As for rims, just make sure that the offset is at least +45 or higher. In hawaii 1600 is the norm. But since moving to seattle things are a heck of a lot cheaper. I guess it's the shipping and stuff.
clear lights could be found at isr-www.autocaresubaru.com or you can find it at www.subaruparts.com ,rims-i got mine for 1500 at euro (it originally was 1100 but i had them powder coat it). i don't know they're alright--they look better when your actually moving then at a stop.

WRXwagonist 10-03-2001, 09:41 PM wassup Jay-cool, another WRX wagon...$1600 for rims...hmmm...I'd say save up and get some pimp rims like Advans or Volks...my brother dropped $3800 for his 18 " volks...pretty nuts...you could probably get some pretty nice racing harts for around $1600...see you on the streets...
Jay Hollingworth 10-03-2001, 09:42 PM I have no intention of turning my baby into a Honda. I traded one in to get her. I was thinking how nice they (the clear lenses) look on the Altezza, and on so many of the Lexus's. (is that a real word?) Anyway, thanks for the website. I'll send out my questions to them. Basically all I wanna do for now is dress it up. I can't mess with the engine cause I might be transfering to California, where I hear it's a pain in the butt regarding anti smog testing. Rims, tailights, and maybe a ground effects kit. Remember, I'm playing with a wagon here. Which I might add found it's way into Maxim this month. The trippy thing is, I wanted the wagon for the extra space for what else? Subs!! One of the "typical owners" in Maxim says, "Guys who like rolling stereos" or somethin like it. They were on the money as far as I'm concerned.
Jay Hollingworth 10-03-2001, 09:48 PM I'd absolutely love to go nuts with my new car, but I have this one reallying annoying hard to deal with problem. I'm in the military. :( That equals very restricted cash flow. lol I have to piece things together with what I can scrounge up. Rent + Car payment + Ins, Phone, Pwr, Food, Gas, Savings= very little left. Anyone got some dope to sell? just kidding.
STi - IMPREZA 10-03-2001, 10:21 PM Hey yuzo, what kinda rims did u get from Euros for $1500? Is it make for Suabrus? Size ad offset? Tires or no tires? Damn thats cheap compare to the price the usually sell at. Thanks
WRXwagonist 10-04-2001, 04:45 AM They had a sale...any Racing Hart rims/tires...17" for $1500...I dunno if they still have the special...
STi - IMPREZA 10-04-2001, 05:09 AM But I thought that Racing Hart dont make any rims for subarus, also they dont have any high offset for RH rims, thats wierd. Did u got it customized drill and offset? Thanks

no, no, no. not racing hart. racing harts are too nice and expensive for me. they are ssr's. i've got some pretty cool raves by the honda guys (we stop at stop light and they start telling me that my rims are dope and match my car--i'm going for that whole blue rally and white theme). i went to every dealer on the island and none of them had the correct off set (my offset is 50 and the weight is real light (don't know the exat numbers)).they all said they would be glad to order it for me but it would cost like 2 grand. being a poor college student i had to resist. yes i got so nitto's that they offer. they're alright--they seem to slip out at very high speed turns. you all can come see my car at school (hcc)--i'm there from mon-fri and at my working place (times supermarket in mccully).
hope that answers it

HubbieScooby 10-05-2001, 01:08 AM hey rosco
i don't think we can ever afford racing harts....not working at Times:rolleyes: ....there is a guy working in the service center that have 18inch C-5's he took like a $1300 loan from the credit union....im not that crazy for rims....maybe for turbo:) ....anyways your rims look bad ass....they definitly match....i didn't know they were SSR's....exhaust next??? im considering a dual N-1...
hugh
hugh i would love to see/hear your car with an exhaust--especially under where you work in that tunnel of a graveyard---can i say alarms going off LOL. and btw hugh--i don't know if i emailed you with this but damn, you folks in kaimuki really need some help. yesterday at work i say another ad for your place as a produce helper. i was going to apply until i seen how much they get paid (i was under the impression they got paid more than that). well i would love to have an exhaust system too but i'm still waiting for my whitelines to come in __$195 + shipping from cali. well soon hopefully.
push2 10-05-2001, 03:53 AM where did you order your springs from? I got a set of whitelines and they dont feel so great with the stock struts!
i'm getting mine from a guy named mr. josh.--you can look him up in the vendor classifieds. i'm gonna run mine with v5 struts though.
