I have an 02 sedan and was wondering if all I needed to convert it to the 04-05 rear end are two things: 04-05 tail lights and 04-05 rear bumper.

Is it a direct swap? No cutting and splicing of wires, etc..?

Thanks.

I'm doing the same thing to my '02 (with '06 tail lights). From what I've heard, It's "plug and play". Subaru is very forgiving like that. Within the body style everything is possible to switch over (02-06 WRX are all the same frame and general body.) The '04 bumper is identical, it just has the notch for the tail lights. Only problem you will run into is even if you find a rear '04 bumper the same color it will most likely clash with the body (be off slightly a shade). It is recommended if you have extra money lying around to repaint the bumper to match. Any good body shop will blend the paint into the quarter panels, so it will be a perfect match. I've heard silver is the worst (my father is a body man). What I'm going to do is carefully file out the notch in my stock bumper, sand it real smooth and polish it. It's hidden under the "bulge" anyways, and if you do it right you won't even be able to tell from even 6" away. Good luck.

I agree with air in matching the paint but I dont know if it's worth the money unless your going to the 06 taillights, i have them in my 04 and they look sooooo nice

What do you mean not worth it unless you're going to the 06 taillights? Obviously this isn't his personal taste, and the 04 taillights are 100 times better looking then the ugly 02 taillights! My personal opinion the 06 taillights are much better looking than the 04, but only on light colors (white, silver). On dark colors they look aftermarket and cheesy to me, but that's just my opinion.
