My check engine lights came on and I pulled a knock sensor code, actually with two different scanners too. Sorry, forgot the P number but it said knock sensor malfunction. Should I just replace the knock sensor?

The above is 100% irrelevant.

Is that the sensor right above the crank pulley by the timing marks? Looks like a silver cylinder thats magnetic? Get it from dealer or what? And how much? thanks

Thanks for the info Uncle Scotty, you know your stuff. I installed the new sensor today and no problems. No hesitation, no check engine light no nothin. Got on it a few times today and light refuses to come on. Thanks again.

Stupid bump.

Thanks Unlce Scotty for postin the torque numbers. I couldn't find them on my PDF manual (easily?) and just went out and did it. From "open hood time" to "come back and type this time" it was 15 minutes, 10mm to disconnect battery, 12mm for knock sensor. Little buggers are pricey, but I 'spose they serve a valuable purpose! :D

replaced it on the wagon with 182,000 miles
