The power locks died and I think its the drivers door solenoid but I am not sure where it is or how to take it out. I would also like to know what the wiring schematics look like for the power lock system. Thanks.

You can have access to them yourself-

Also for a 97 you should be able to get a Haynes or Chilton manual from most auto parts stores.

Mulder,

Interesting, I would buy a Haynes or Chilton manual in a split second if I could find one. Do you know for sure that they make a manual? I have looked at every Auto parts store that I have ever been in for one but no dice.

Ok, just took a quick look around online. It looks like there are no aftermarket manuals for the 97 Impreza, only for some earlier '90s models. So the factory manuals are your only option.

Probably not the same thing, but the passenger door speaker stopped working. After removing door panel, when back and checked connector inside RH kick panel - multi-connector plug had come apart. Plug in and speaker now works AND power door locks I never knew I had!

CZRacing,

Any chance you have a picture of exactly where this is?
