I know Cobb says TBE for Stage 2, and their web site claims 35 hp increase (no need to debate that here), but does anyone know how much power I'm giving up by only using a high flow catted dp with state 2?

edit: Will I still get that "stage 2" feeling over stage 1

None, infact running an open downpipe will probably get you some extra top-end parrrr.

It sounds like crap though IMO and you'll probably get yourself a ticket. ;)

^^^ I think he ment a DP mated to his stock catback.

I don't think you'll be down on to much power, maybe 5-15hp. I'm running a turboxs stealthback with the stock axleback.

^^^ I think he ment a DP mated to his stock catback. I don't know much about htis stuff. I think I mean having a high flow catted dp as my ONLY mod with my AP.

Unabombers exhaust FAQ has a good diagram of the parts in the exhaust. Just run a quick search for everything you need to know.

You may not hit target boost. Your EGT's will run hotter.

How do I know? Cause I did the exact same thing. Helix catted DP with stock catback.

You will notice a difference still.

^^^ I did the same thing too. Had helix catted DP mated to stock catback and could only hit 14.8 PSI peak boost. Then a month later got a borla hush and now running at 15.6 PSI. On my butt dyno i felt a stronger top end but low end got sacrificed a lil bit.

What do you mean by low end got sacrifced?
Lose low end power when switched a DP only stage 2 to full turboback?

I meant that when you have a full 3" turboback, you lose a little bit of low-end torque but gain a significant amount of top end.

It is caused by reduced back pressure with the full TBE, hence you loose low end grunt but pick up high end pull.
