I wanted to change the plugs because I got my WRX used with 36K and I wasn't sure if they had been changed or not. I pulled out NGK BKR6ES, so this tells me they were changed, correct? The only NGK plugs I could find at the local part stores were NGK PFR6G (v-power). Anyway when I pulled the old plugs out they were all white at the tips. Is this normal? I have txs up and tbe with cobb ots map stg 2. I have only put like 1000 miles or so with this setup. Also, which of the two types of plugs are better? Thanks in advance, Dave

get some BKR7E plugs and gap 'em at .028" - .030" and install them using 15ft-lbs.... do NOT get the '-11' plugs

Uncle, save me a search. Why not 11's?

Uncle, save me a search. Why not 11's?
.....the ngk '-11' = 1.1mm pregapped.....which ~= .044"....gapping them down to ~.030" is TOO much.
....ngk NON '-11' plugs are pregapped 0.7 - 0.8mm....~= .028" - .031"
....so the '-11' plug is for NA applications.....the NON -11 plug is for FI applications

...he's smokin' dope-----ya want the NON -11 plugs in any event.....maybe somebody bought them and re-gapped them and brought them back.
ALL the bkr7e's that I have bought were ~.032"

Or he just misspoke and he meant to say 0.028" gap.

I went and asked him to check the gap for me. He said they were .038. I bought them anyways and checked them when I got home. They all were .030-.032. I don't know about that guy.

Then, clearly, this guy either can't read a gap gauge or was giving you some line. You don't always know whether someone is or isn't "smokin' dope" unless you can prove it.
Looks like you proved this guy can't be trusted w/his info and/or he measured the wrong plug.
More importantly, you've got the right plugs and you've verified the gaps.

Ci, the OP proved it.
Now the OP knows how much he can trust this guy to give him proper info, which is little to none.
