ok I love the wooosshhh sound in turbo cars but I will not put a BOV in my car. I know that with the air intake you basicly get the same sound and i guess it makes more sense to put an air intake than a bov.
I was wondering if i will get any goodies (no matter how small) out of an air intake if i do a protune to my car. that way i get the nice sound i want and some performance.
thanks for feedback

Even with a Protune I still don't think the $200 to $300 for an intake is worth 5 to 10 HP. Maybe if your running a bigger turbo then it might be worth it.

Mod it in stages...

Figure out where you will be happy and have it Protuned...when you are ready, upgrade to the next level, Protune...etc.

Tuning can get pretty expensive...especially when you start adding 1 part at a time and tune your car each time...

I bought a TBE/K&N Drop In/Bov/Header and used it with the AP Stg2 map...I didn't realize how much difference it made when I got my first tune recently from PDXTuning...the header was really messing the generic AP ST2 maps up...now, my car is much happier...

So, there is nothing wrong with getting a Protune for your intake if that is all that you want to do to your car...but I would wait for a few more mods prior to dishing out the few hundred dollars you'll spend at the shop...you'll see a bigger difference...

If you just want more "whoooshing" and "pfsssh" sounds, remove your intake silencer located in the fender.
