I just got it today and the previous owner had and 04 and seems like he has the latest software V1.3 and has all the OTS maps that come standard on the AP. Can i just use the STG 1 of the 04 into my 05 WRX?

Also can you load maps to an unmarried AP?

I would download the 05 firmware from their site and load it onto the AP. It will include all of the newest 05 maps as well.

And yes, you can add maps to a unmarried AP!

i keep having trouble connecting the AP to the PC, i downloaded the reprogram thing frlom their site and its stays at "waiting for accessport on COM1....." and i did presse the up/down key to put the AP in sync mode and the AP displys "waiting for PC" they are both waiting for each other when they are all connected!

i've read through the entire COBB forums and searched for 4hrs (literally) in NASIOC but no answers. Tried it in 3 different comps....

PS. By the way the AP PC cable came with male and female when i needed female/female so one side plugs into the AP and the end for the PC doesnt work. so i went to Radioshack and got a gender changer in order to make it fit and that hasnt been working.

did you go into the cmos and check the com1?

i check everything, from BIOS to control panel to unstalling any program using COM ports to a fully reformated computer, nothing....called COBB they were soooo excited to help me :rolleyes:

well after waiting a full daay for my comp to detec the AP turns out the cable the guy sent me was the wrong one....i tried it with my friends cable and things worked fine. You need a female/female null cable modem, gender changers and etc or regular serial cables WILL NOT WORK
