Will it work on my SOHC motor? If so please pm me a quote + shipping to 97060.
I just happen to need an oil pump, considering buying one from the stealership... ><.

CTKAG 04-27-2006, 09:54 AM I was looking for some type of performance oil pump a few months ago during my buildup - wish this had been around then.

RallySport Direct 04-27-2006, 02:54 PM Sko - You have a pm :)
CTKAG - I have a feeling these high pressure pumps will become more common, you should get one if your ever taking off your timng belt for whatever reason!!
Thanks
Rick
Phil Jr. 04-27-2006, 07:16 PM how hard is it to install? does the engine need to be lifted?
RallySport Direct 04-27-2006, 07:25 PM Phil Jr. - It really depends on your mechanical level. You will have to remove the engine, you could do it in the car but I find that it is much easier to just lift the engine. You have to take off the Main crank pulley, timing covers, timing belt, and inner timing covers to access the Oil Pump. The actual instalation of the pump is very easy, its getting to it that is the hard part.
Please let me know if you have any other questions
Thanks
Rick
InfamousDX 04-27-2006, 10:40 PM Very nice!! Out of curiosity, how much is an OEM oil pump??
Crucial Racing 04-28-2006, 06:28 AM Very cool! Do you know if this starts life as the OEM 2.2L turbo oil pump? Those are supposed to have higher output in pressure and/or flow to help support the piston squirters that came on that engine, and have been the upgrade choice until this, which I'm sure is even better... especially if it starts as the 2.2T one :p
Anyway, I'll likely be picking one up for the pending engine build.... probably better than porting a stock one... although we'll probably port this one anyway ;)
Jeremy
RallySport Direct 05-02-2006, 04:15 PM InfamousDX - I cant seem to find the MSRP on the OEM pump, sorry.
Crucial - They should have started their life as the 2.0/2.5 Turbo Oil pump, then modified for higher pressure and ported for flow.
Thanks
Rick
ROC pit-bull 05-02-2006, 06:32 PM just curious, are there better alternators, and water pumps (cosworth ect..)? If there are do you guys have them?
jnorth85 05-02-2006, 06:40 PM will this pump allow a built 2.5 to rev to 8k?
i know that oiling is a major issue in raiseing the limit.
RallySport Direct 05-03-2006, 06:35 PM ROC pit-bull - I know that those parts are avilable out their, they wont come from cosworth and I am unsure of who makes such a product.
JNorth85 - If any OEM pump could, it would be this one. The only thing better than this would be a custom oil pump or Dry Sump.
Let me know if there are any other questions
Thanks
Rick
InfamousDX 05-06-2006, 10:27 PM Hey guys... do you have the oil pump in stock? I'd like to purchase but I want to make sure it's in stock. Thanks.

that is very nice to hear, i plan on a built block in the future and this would be one of the first things id do to it if 8k would be possible on the ej257. do you have any idea if there will be any testing regarding this issue?
thanks for all the help rick!
RallySport Direct 05-08-2006, 05:11 PM InfamousDX - Still waiting for them to come in.... Should be very soon now.
jnorth85 - I dont have any evidence of someone running the Cosworth pump and reving above 8K, But I think I know where to find out. I will get back to you shortly.
Thanks
Rick
Unabomber 05-08-2006, 06:01 PM You might want to cross post this into the built motor forum. While not technically kosher, this is a new product that specifically has built motor applications. If you get yelled at for cross posting, tell them I told you too. :)

Rick
is that a US EJ257?
if so what other mods are done to it to get it to rev to 9500!
RallySport Direct 05-08-2006, 07:25 PM I dunno what is done to the Engine, that is a Cosworth secret I assume. I thought I was going to have to give them my soul for these pictures.... :)
I *think* it is a 2.5 liter, wether that is a USDM block or something else, I know not.
Let me know if there are any other questions
Thanks

Agreed. I posted a thread in the 2.5L forums about revving a Subaru motor to 10k, and oiling was one of the major issues discussed. If you could shed some light on the situation, the thread is located here (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1012275)
ShaggyGT 05-28-2006, 08:31 PM Still waiting to hear back on the Oil pump. I want to buy one, but I guess they dont want to sell them????
-Matt
jigga 05-28-2006, 09:37 PM how about some more details on that engine that seems to be able to spin to 10K... Are they building them for sale? or was is some one-off concoction??
not8player 05-30-2006, 04:22 PM Will this pump work with an EJ22T block?
If anyone had to take a guess by what factor would you say this pump is better than a stock EJ22T pump. I know this pump is new and not too many people have used it as of yet.
I am in the process of rebuilding an EJ22T (350-400 chp goal) and I am tempted to pick one up. From what I gather a stock EJ22T oil pump from the stealership is around ~$130 so additional $100 is not bad.
RallySport Direct 05-30-2006, 08:41 PM ShaggyGT- We did get our shipment in, however we had a BO list and all the pumps we got in were sent out. We are waiting on our next shipment to come in, once it does we will let you know. I would recomend to get on a BO list, that way when they do come in, you are guaranteed one.
not8player - This pump should work on the EJ22T without a problem, as the 2.0 ans 2.5 guys use the 2.2 pump on their blocks as well.
Please let me know if you have any other questions
Thanks
