Hello there kids. I know there have been 5,000 posts on this already, but please bear with me. I don't have the time to ferret though them all (I am at work).
I have a 99 2.5 RS with almost 50,000 miles on the odo. My question is...what lubricants should I swap out?
I know the previous owner (I have had it for 5 months) used synthetic oil, and I plan on doing the same. On top of the oil, what should I change out, and what brands should I use?
I drive very aggresively, auto cross, and will begin rally-crossing here in late October. So in other words, I need high performance stuff. Please be specific as to brands and rating (weights).
What do reccomend in the way of:
Oil?
Power Steering fuild?
Brake Fluid?
Transmission Fluid (diff fluid?) ?
And anytihng else I might have missed.
PLEASE take the time to reply.
Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it.

Porsche914boxer4- I highly recommend using Motul if you can get it. Yes it maybe a more expensive than Mobil 1, but it's very nice stuff :)

If you're in Cali, don't have to worry much about having a super low weight oil.

I'd run with the Motul 300V 5w40 for oil
Motul 600 for Brake Fluid
Motul Gear 300 for tranny fluid and rear diff.

Sorry Jack, I disagree. :)

I would go with:

Amsoil Series 2000 0w-30. This is rated 0-30 due to properties of the oil, not because it for sub-zero applications. Amsoil is pretty much the king with is comes to super-friction-free oils. Click here (http://www.kwakas.demon.co.uk/ixion/oil.html) for some good info.

Castrol GT-LMA is a good, cheap brake/clutch fluid. You can buy it anywhere. ATE Super Blue is very good and more expensive. Castrol SRF is about the best you can buy and is very expensive. Motul 600 tends to absorb water quickly and hence would have to be changed frequently. Click here (http://www.shotimes.com/SHO3brakefluid.html) for a good reference.

Your tranny/rear diff. would do well with Redline Shockproof Superlight. Expensive, yes, but worth it IMO. Click here (http://i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=95584) for a review and further comments.
