Trying to reconnect my DiagPORT cable into my car and the end that plugs into the diagnostic port I can't seem to get it to stay in. I am looking at the plug on the cable (the one that goes into the car) and there is a small silver connector bent inwards, I am wondering if that is supposed to be bent in or not, anyone know, thanks.

It is actually supposed to be in line with the connector portion.

If it is bent in any way, make it straight, that should fix a connection issue.

Can't seem to get the silver metal piece to bend out, anyone have a pic of the plug on their Diagport?

Use some needlenose pliers to "carfully" bend it back

It will connect no problem when the plate is properly aligned.
