View Full Version : Sylvania Cool Blue...
nmack 10-05-2001, 06:58 PM ...i bought these and installed today, i read in previous posts about them being Whiter than the stock lights....
was everyone talking about night time, when its dark out?
because in day light, they look teh same yellow to me...
i wanted something that was pure white..in all light..i guess i'll have to buy some PIAAs or something hehe
Reflex-Arc 10-05-2001, 07:10 PM what would you expect?
look at the price difference. ;)
smartass comments aside. I use these and they are whiter than stock. Wait till it's dark and turn the headlights and fogs on. Gauranteed the headlights will look "whiter"
:)
Jason 10-05-2001, 08:01 PM K mart sells Philip blue vision, these bulbs are a bit whiter than cool blues and actually brighter than stock bulbs.
hope you didn't pay too much for those ... mine lasted about 2.5 weeks, before one burned out

i saw those at walmart, but they did not have H4
Jgrahn555 10-05-2001, 08:42 PM FWIW: why would you buy a bulb named "cool blue" expecting it to be white?
Just a thought on how rediculous that sounds.

Dolphin Overton 10-05-2001, 08:56 PM Mine lasted over a year. The only reason they didn't last longer is because I got Nokyas to replace them.
slamck 10-05-2001, 09:57 PM I had those before and lasted over a year, which is btw much longer than the PIAA crap.

because, smartass, i read previous posts on the bulbs, by using the search tool, and ppl said the bulbs are whiter than stock, but not very blue.
Subro 10-05-2001, 10:01 PM I have had the cool blues for over a year now, and the fog lights too. When I got them, there wasn't too many options out there for bulbs. However, they are way better than stock, but don't expect them to be like the hyper white. If you want to get white get hyper white's which are cheaper than PIAA and just as white, I forgot the manufacturer though. Check on Ebay for some deals.
Nokyas are the best I have used.
SoobATV 10-06-2001, 02:02 AM I had Cool Blue 9004's in an old Escort GT... lasted less than a month each. Horrid stock yellow in the daytime, less bright than original, stock(read 13 year old bulbs, at the time) Sylvania bulbs. Don't buy these, save your cash and buy some higher end stuff.
This is probably completely different, but I've got the old school sealed beam version for my 1986 Subaru Brat. They're great. Very clean and good light output.
I'm hesitant about adding them to my Impreza...the stock ones seem ok, and living in a big city I don't really have to worry about lighting.
bender 10-06-2001, 11:28 AM geez, what do you guys do with your headlights:p
I've had my cool blues for 2 years now, and they are still going strong.
they are a little "whiter" then stock, but not much IMO
andyC 10-06-2001, 02:06 PM I have had the cool blues for about 8 months now and no problems whatsoever.
They are just a little whiter than stock, and maybe just a little brighter too. For a cheap bulb, ya can't complain! :)

Dolphin Overton 10-06-2001, 04:43 PM That's a decent article. The Nokya's appear more white than they do Blue. I will be switching to Hella bulbs shortly though, with no blue tint at all. I'm kinda mad I bought those Nokya's now. Damn
Dolphin- Just because you read that article you want to switch lights? I really like mine they are much, much better than the stock.
Dolphin Overton 10-06-2001, 08:38 PM Mine are better than stock too, but only because of the wattage. Imagine the Nokya lights with no blue tint at all. I will still switch to hella becausemy friend had some on his Jeep and they were soooo bright.
