Ok, im in the market for new tires. I dont want to best thing i can buy cause im going to get new wheels within a year or so and dont know if the old tires will fit....... that being said i do launch my car, and i need grip when doing that. I dont have HP figures because i am getting the Access Port pro tune on wednesday next week. All i know is I take STI's. So i would assume over 300 at the belt. So can n e 1 help me pick a good tire that will give e grip with the added power. (05 WRX Stock Wheels)

wow, your so helpfull.......................................... .................................

Major welcome to you

But consider how little info you gave and what you asked.

Type of launches - pro-solo, drag...?

Wheel size - now and future?

Suspension mods - lowering springs, coilovers...?

not to mention if you need both wet and dry traction (probably don't need to handle the snow since you live in Arizona)

well i live in AZ and colorado, but I wont be in snow anymore no. I will have lowering springs next week or so. I dont know the size, most tires come in different sizes im looking more for a model. Stock coilovers, drag launches........... A tire that is better than stock but not REALLY expensive. (stock potenza's)

for $1000 u could get just about all the best street tires out there. take a look at Bridgestone RE-01R, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, Michelin Pilot Sport 2. im only suggesting these tires because u have such a high budget, if u want more of a bang for the buck tire u could check out Falken FK451/FK452, Hankook RS2, Kumho MX. these tires are reasonable priced while still providing tons of traction.

these 2 websites will be very useful for u:

sounds you like really need grippy tires, i also suggest some high performance intercooler fluid to improve drag times.

really? i didnt know that.

you want to spend >1000 and you want really grippy tires... i think it'll be really easy to find just about any top end competition tire and youd be fine, just give tirerack a gander. given that you simultaneously have stock coilovers and lowering springs, i doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between any competition tire with a price tag of >250 per tire.
