Hey all,
Just thought I would mention that the Wall Street Journal gave a fairly nice review of the Acura RSX Type-S in Friday's Weekender section.
The thing I had a problem with was that they compared it only to other 2-DOOR coupes, so even though the Subaru Impreza WRX would have been very close on price (the RSX Type-S they tested rang in at $23,170) it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the article.
They roughly compared the Acura to the Mercedes C, Toyota Celica GT-S, Volkswagen GTI GLX and the Mitsubishi Eclipse...not a huge driver comparison, just a matrix of standard features and some rudimentary impressions of the RSX.
They liked the power and styling of the RSX but noted the engine had to be in high revs to see the power. They also disliked the lack of headroom and the front-wheel drive (plowed in tight turns). They got a 0-60 of 6.7 sec out of the RSX, the fastest of the cars featured.
I just wish they would have compared more on price than on 2-door-coupedness. It would be cool to see what WSJ would think of the WRX as compared to the RSX. Not trying to start a flame war, I just think the WRX has a lot to offer in its price range, and the cars they featured don't give a full picture of what is available out there at the 20K-25K cost.
Ah well...at least it was an article about cheaper sporty cars instead of minivans, SUVs, or luxury/performance cars way out of my price range. :D
