Folks,

I need to replace my 96 subie's 4EAT AWD tranny. Its numbers are:

076582
TZ102Z AD AA-CL
R4AXEL


And I have an offer for a used one from Japan (an importer) from the same year and model, but its number is

TZ102ZGAAA-CA

Since theyre both TZ-102Z's, should it work? Or is there some issue I should be aware of?

final drive ratio is what you need to make sure match....or you need to get the matching rear diff. Other then that, I don't see any issues.

There was no matching rear diff sold with the tranny, unfortunately. Hopefully the speedo still works properly when it's all done.


In other news, I have a 96 4EAT tranny for sale, disassembled if anyone now wants it. It looks to be in awesome condition except for the torque converter (we found some brass shavings in the pan) and the final drive bearning (noisy).
