View Full Version : EGT gauge going nuts solarin006 04-26-2006, 06:54 PM So I bought a set of gauges ~2 months ago and now the EGT gauge is going nuts. The needle will jump up and down or cutout or get stuck at one reading. I know for sure it's not power or connections. The EGT wiring for the probe doesn't look to be damaged at all and it isn't touching anything hot (runs from cyl 2+4 manifold to front of engine and up by washer bottle). Any guesses? Faulty gauge or probe? Or something else I haven't thought of? Leadfoot77 05-10-2006, 08:48 AM I just noticed the same thing with my EGT gauge (omori) this morning... it jumps around like crazy. I noticed that the high spot it jumps to appears to be the correct reading, however so I dont' think it's the probe... mine is also only a couple months old. solarin where did you get yours from? is it an omori? solarin006 05-10-2006, 01:29 PM It was a set of MadDad Clarity gauges. I've already sent them off a few emails and they said they had a couple instances with bad probes. So I'll be getting a new probe shortly. :banana: |
