Like the title says im about to get a good deal on some dunlops but they are 195 55 16.. i only want them for a little bit because i am saving up to get 17in rims and tires, the tires on my car right now are dead (one the thread is actually peeling off) and two they are firestones go figure huh, so that is why i need some cheap replacements.

I am going to florida this weekend and was planning to buy them before the weekend and have my friend put them on before i come home.. will they fit on my legacy gt mesh rims 16X7?!

What are some cons to this if any?

never mind i found out they will work don't know of any cons except being smaller width

^^^Yea I guess, I would think if the tire pressure was low and you were to hit a pothole it might pop off the wheel.

If you go to the Tirerack site, do a search for 195/55r16 tires and check the specs you will see that the "Rim Width Range" for most tire of that size is 5.5" to 7". That would suggest to me that 7" will be safe, although it won't be ideal.

LGT mesh wheels are 6.5", not 7"

No, they aren't going to blow out...

And they will NOT be pinched. Quite the oppostie of pinched. Pinched = too wide a tire on a narrow rim....here you have a STRETCHED tire.

In any case, if there are LGT mesh 16" wheels, they are only 6.5"...all the more reason to go for it.

You can run 195's on 7"ers, if you have them, no problem anyway.
