These are the matsu****a gen 3 ballasts, the same used on the 04/05 STi. These will mount directly onto the bottom of your 04/05 WRX headlights, you simply need to drill a hold for the ignitor to pass into the headlight

One power connector was cracked, but it was sealed up with silicon and is 100% working, the other is fine. Both include power connectors wth bare pigtales, you can attach your H4 connectors to these or use a custom harness.

$150 Shipped. D2R bulbs can be found on ebay for 50 or 60 shipped, so you can can OEM HIDs for much less than any cheap kit

not to **** on your thread but the sti hid system has already been proven that it WONT work on the wrx headlights.. due to housing issues.

I have both sets of lights right now, they WILL mount just fine (considering ive done it)

As for the bulbs and bulb holders, it may be best to use rebased H4 HID bulbs (like a HID kit would supply). If you are crafty, Im sure you can get the d2rs to fit correctly. And someone doing a HID projector retro could also use these over any other ballast, simply because they bolt right to the wrx headlight. And thats whats for sale here, just the ballasts. All HID ballasts work in the same exact function, these just happen to bolt to our lights

As for the actual reflector housings, I didnt notice any difference between the two. I put them side by side. I imagine a rebased H4 D2R bulb with the sti ballasts would work just fine
