I just thought I would throw out some ideas I have that I think would make I-club easier to navigate. I am by no means complaining, this site is great! It's just I spend way too much time on it to not think of some interface ideas (sorry I'm a programmer). I'm not sure what kind of controll you guys have over the interface, if none just disreguard these ideas.

#1) Giant Search button. I think alot of new people are unaware of the search function. A big button at the top of screen would hopefully eliminate some of these mistakes.

#2)Self search button. Or have all the threads that I have posted to in the last week or so visable in my profile without having to subscribe to a thread.

#3)clickable path at top and bottom. Ok, so I am reading through the thread and I reach the end and I want to go back to the forum it was in. Usually I just end up using the back button or I have to scroll all the way to the top and click on "general" or whatever forum I am in. Having it at the top is nice but it would also be nice at the bottom for ease of use.

#4)Visable PM notification. sometimes I go for a week without realizing that I have a PM. Yea I know, I am lazy. But still it would be nice to have something that would light up or change color or something to tell me I have an unread message.

These are just a few ideas. And again, I am by no means complaining about how this site is run. And yes I also realize that this site is also free and that any work on this site is done in the free time of the owners. I greatly appreciate that. Thanks guys, this site totally rules!

1. I agree with you ;)
2. Click on "profile" in one of your posts, and then click on "search for all posts for this user" on the right side of the gold header bar
3. I use the "forum jump" pulldown, but having the same nav list thing on the bottom that is up top (the "i-Club Forums > i-Club General > WRX Non-Technical") would help
4. If you look on the main forum page when you log in, down at the bottom is visible notification that you have a new PM ;).

Lazy minds think alike. Those sound decent to me.

2)I did know about the "search for all posts for this user" option. I was thinking it would be nice to have it be a button in "my profile" or just at the top and be "my posts" or something. I'm lazy and don't want to have to find my post to look for my posts.;)

4)That's right! I forgot about that. it is at the bottom. Maybe it could be at the top instead? Thanks for reminding me, sometimes I never get all the way to the bottom on that page.:)

I really like the big search button idea- my first post was asking the standard newbie wrx/sti questions, but I just wasn't aware of the search option.

Of course, that's not really a problem because usually five people tell you about the search feature in reply to the standard newbie questions, so maybe it's not worth the trouble? Everyone's typically pretty helpful around here! :)

bahahahahaah1!! that is good:)
Acutally our search button isn't to bad..if youhave seen the UK site, their search button is all hidden.
It might be a good idea though, it is a bit small (like brian's brain :) )

#3)clickable path at top and bottom. Ok, so I am reading through the thread and I reach the end and I want to go back to the forum it was in. Open new windows instead of using one window. Makes life easy (but lots of windows, so I just go one forum at a time)
