I have a Prodrive ppp3 on an 03' wrx. The kit consist of up, dp, 3rd-cat eliminator, y-hose, axelback muffler. Everything else on my car is stock. I took Simon Lines only recomendation for Prodrive pp3 kit and installed a sti intercooler, sti hood scoop, air splitter. I got a jdm ver7 sti intercooler though. I noticed that partial throttle response was not a crisp as it was with the stock wrx intercooler. At partial throttle, the turbo spool up felt slower and lazier aslo. Also when I hit the gas pedal it doesn't feel as firm as before. Like when I add a short ram air intake in my old honda civic. This really bugs the ish out of my. I miss the firmer more precise gas pedal feel. I also noticed when at wide open throttle and high boost in neutral between shifts the rpm would shoot up 800 rpm. Before the rpm would only shoot up 300 rpm. The turbo spool up noise and exhaust is now louder. On the upside of things at half to wide open throttle the power delivery feels more linear. I also noticed the car pulls much harder at higher rpms. I still have the same peak psi. Over all I was very suprised with the power improvements. My primary reason for this mod was to better counter heatsoak, and have my car running at optimum. Are these results typical when you go from stock intercooler to jdm sti intercooler. Would I have better results using a 15% smaller usdm sti intercooler? I heard from a couple of people that the jdm sti intercooler are better designed and flow better than usdm sti intercooler. Is this true? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Simon@prodrive can you comment? thanks Drake
