Alright, so I've been in the shadows doing research for mods I want to get. I bought my car with headers, up, dp, stock turbo, zero sports intake. I put a dp back SPT exhaust on it. Car is having no problems running. Now I know from reading alot of forums there are some mixed feelings about running an aftermarket intake because of problems it may cause with the MAF sensor, i.e vehicle drivability. I have no idea if the ECU was tuned at all, I'm assuming it may have been since these mods were performed and the car runs great. I myself am going to be investing in an AP for my car. I guess my question after this long rant is should I buy a stock airbox for my car and run the STG1 91oct map, STG2 91oct, or just hold off all together until I can set up a protune for her. Any input is appreciated before hand! Thanks.

And yes I understand the protune is the right way to do it either way. :)

Problem is I bought it from the dealership I work at. Talked to my gm and asked him to call the guy and find out if anything had been done with the ECU..... We haven't been able to get ahold of the guy.

Intake FAQ:

There's not a lot of folks running the Z/S intake... so it's hard to say whether it's safe or not with your setup. And stock airboxes are cheap :)

put stock intajke back on and run stage 2 until you get protuned

i wouldnt even run the OTS maps from cobb with headers on there.. just get the AP, and get a protune! thats your best solution.

and i would HOPE the guy got the ECU flashed/tuned with all that on there! but if you say it runs good, then.... *shrug*

Good news. Got the guys phone number that owned the car before me. Gave him a call and left my number. Hopefully my call will be returned before the night is over.

Heard back from the guy. Turns out it's running a pro-tune map done by xx tuning in hartford, ct. Car was dyno-ed at 295awhp.

so your running a protuned AP map without an AP?

Apparently he didn't have an AP. My thread started that way because that's the route I was planning on going with the car. The ECU was flashed, and runs that map now. He said he used to have a UTEC, I asked if I could buy it off of him but he had already sold it along with the turbo timer and a few other things I would have liked to have.
