car was running just fine yesterday. then today i washed it and then it wouldn't start. tried to jump it and it would crank a little but wouldn't start. I have hella super tones installed and noise kept coming from them so I cecked the relay. it had water in it and so i replaced it. so I fixed the obvious short in the electrical system jumped the car and it started right up. Now the problem is that the battery won't hold a charge and I don't know why. help me please. :(

check the fusible links between the alternator and battery.

I checked the fuse box and everything is good I'm assuming the one labled ALT-S is the link from the altenator to the battery. The battery is less than 6mos old so it should be good too.

Ok, get a DMM and check out how many volts there is when the vehicle is running. Check it at the battery and also check it at the alternator.
You should have.....14.4(approx) at the back of the alternator and you should see about 13 Volts at the battery. If you see 12.5 or less then you are having issues with thet alternator. I too don't believe it's your battery. But, on that same hand, it's wortht ripping the battery out and getting it down to a walmart where they check the battery for free ;) They'll even sell you a new one if need be LOL

Got out the DMM today and the battery read 12.5 so I tried to start it and it fired right up. My guess is I have an exposed wire somwhere that is shorting when is wet. I'll probly be searching for it for a long time.
