So, I'm very interested in selling Subarus:). I believe in this product, and I need a different job while I work torward my pilots license:rolleyes:. I've never sold cars before, and I'm pretty sure there will be some people on this forum that do. So if anyone could give me any pointers in to both getting hired and the actual buisness that would be great:) . I realize this may not be a good time to get into it, but I'm sick of my old job, i need a change, and it should only be a few months until i can go to flight school. I have a lot of questions, but I'll hold back for now. Anything would be appreciated:D . Thanks a lot. Oh, and if I can't sell Subaru's I'm not going anywhere else!!! Subaru is the only car company I believe in, except maybe Audi.

Thanks, I'm trying to go to Subaru.com, but it says I need flash player, 1 I'm pretty sure I have it, 2 i tried to download it again, and it's not working, I'm frusterated, I guess I'll just go to a dealer
Subaru.com isn't going to help you find a job as a salesman. Go to the local dealers and apply.
It doesn't really take any experience to sell cars, and most dealers will train you in the way that you want to sell.
I went straight from delivering pizza's to selling cars about 10 years ago; no training, just LOTS of car knowledge and a head for remembering numbers. I spent 4 years selling. Apart from the horrid hours and having to deal with crack-smoking salesmen and managers, it was fun.
But remember, there probably aren't many Subaru ONLY dealers. You will more than likely be selling other lines as well. In my case it was Mazda/Suzuki/VW, as well as used cars. Imagine trying to sell someone on a Passat (when they were new) and you had 626's half a lot away. VW's had horrid build quality and service at that time, but I had to do it if the customer wanted a VW.
You definatly meet interesting people when selling cars. I remember one guy that wanted a RX-7 (3rd gen was out) but he wanted TALLER profile tires to help the harsh ride quality and he wanted white leather interior and white carpeting. It was all I could do not to laugh in his face when I told him what it would cost to mangle a Rex that way.
Good luck though, and if you go ahead with it, save some of your money because you will be paid on commission more than likely, and that is not always a stable income.

Thank you for your responce, I know a lot about cars as well, and I'm sure that it will be a help, though in 90% of cars I've test driven or bought, I went in knowing a lot more about the car in question than the salesman, WRX included. I live in New England and here there are Subaru only dealerships (which makes me happy:)). It help to know that people are hired with no expirience, I'm sure it HAS to appen once in a while :), but I'm glad you told me about it. Thanks again.
