avsmusic1 05-01-2006, 01:56 PM Calling all audio people to show off their systems. What are you running? How many watts? How much did it run you? Anything out of the ordinary? Show off!! Sorry if people think this is a waste but I'm bored, curios, and I just wanted to spice up the Audio/Video section a little.

I've been meaning to get some pics up for weeks, now... I will surely have some up by next week sometime. I've got the mid ranges and mid basses glassed in the doors and the tweeters in the factory location. I am very pleased with the sound, very balanced... and rediculous output, but I'm sure the 19Ov.2s will keep up. :D

Nup, very easy, I did use the factory spacer thou, just cut out the old speaker and a little bit extra due to the size of the Diamonds magnet/motor.

STiyiyi 07-27-2006, 09:00 AM Sorry for the belated post to this thread but I haven't been on the forum for a while and wanted to throw my hat into the ring. Here's what I have in my '05 STi.
1) Kenwood Excelon DDX-7015 DVD head unit.
2) Kenwood KDS-P901 surround digital decoder.
3) Kenwood KCA-iP500 iPod control interface.
4) Phoenix Gold DLD 44 11 volt line driver.
5) Sirius satellite radio interface.
6) Two (2) MB Quart RAA 1000 mono amplifiers.
7) Two (2) MB Quart RAA 2400 400 x 2 stereo amplifiers.
8) MB Quart QSD 216 6.5 front component speakers.
9) MB Quart QSD 213 5.25 rear component speakers.
10) Two (2) Alpine SWX-1224D 12” subwoofers.
11) Lanzar Opticap 200 20 Farad 16 V amplifier style hybrid capacitor.
12) Custom fabricated billet aluminum nitrous bottle brackets.
13) Nine (9) sheets of Dynamat installed underneath the roof, entire floor, doors and trunk.
14) Two 10 lb. bottles of direct port ZEX NOS molded into the rear deck.
15) Two Optima Yellow top batteries relocated in the trunk enclosure.
16) LED lighting in the acrylic "STi" logo in the trunk lid and surrounding the amplifiers in the trunk.
With 9 full sheets of Dynamat in the roof, door panels, trunk and floor, I can crank this thing up to outrageous levels inside and you'd never know it standing outside the car with the windows rolled up. The sound pressure is surreal.

Enough so I had to turn my Cusco Zero 2-R's up a full turn. I'm guessing around 200 lbs. With the direct port NOS fueling a future twin scroll turbo, that extra weight will be dealt with accordingly.

Yes I am from San Diego... I live in the Mira Mesa area. The car is in my garage... I am building the system... I have experience in fiberglassing, box building, 12 volt... No need to pay a shop...
To answer your questions, Yes I did get everything for free. I am sponsored by Alphasonik, Dynamat, Tsunami, and Optima Batteries as far as the audio department is concerned.
As far as your comments about the sound quality, you must have heard the lower end stuff... I have heard my setup in a fellow teammates car at CES when he was in their booth and it sounded great... But to each their own opinion... Doesnt bother me what people think... Even if its not a phenomenal sound quality, I still got it for free! :D

iownaspec 07-29-2006, 05:52 PM So does a Ferrari go or look as good as a Fiat? Just because some company owns them doesn't mean their products are pieces of crap too.
So you've got an unlimited budget too then?
Yes it is pretty good.
Like you and avsmucic1 maybe?
talk out of my ass? your the one saying alphasonik for sq  . and im not gonna start a flame war, but use what you want ill use what i want. but alphasonik hasnt been sq since there earlier years. they are now a good daily driver/ street beat brand, but definatly not focal and so on. anyways back to your regularaly scheduled programing.
