I thought for some cars Ecutek had a LC feature, but unfortunately the only way to make it happen on a reflash is for them to decompile and rewrite a lot of code. That's a lot more complex that just finding the maps and changing values. New logic code must actually be written and crammed into the limited space of the ROM without screwing anything else up.

I think there may be some aftermarket ignition systems that offer a two-step, but that might be just as bad as buying a UTEC or Hydra after it is all said and done. And that only gives you spark cut, not injector cut, which is arguably worse on your car.

I do not believe it is available, but I would confirm with EcuTeK about that.

There is another option left for STi owners...
Most Ecu's have a "no speed signal rev limiter", this safety feature is set to 6000 rpm on EUDM STi.
Using a push switch to open the speed signal circuit to Ecu & desactivating the relevant DTC, you get a nice "manual" assistance for launch until you release the switch.

Of course, this cannot be compared to the tek launch control, using a speed based rev limiter offset... but... ;)

yep it will just improve my launching skills till some day either ecutek will get on the ball with map switching / launch control, or I upgrade to a diff EM solution.

You can do anti lag with Ecutek. Contact Ben at Ecutek for details. Ecutek put in specific settings into Rom files to adjust for this purpose.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about "zero speed rev limiter" (or what ever speed you set to unleash the rev limiter offset like Ecutek does into the code), I'm talking about "no speed signal", no signal at all into the Ecu.

All STi Ecu's since 2001 have this feature... I guess it was designed to avoid speed signal wire cutting on 180 kph-limited JDM ecu's.
Using the method I described above with a push to open switch located on the wheel (opening speed signal circuit) gives nice result.

That also kills the AVCS.

for the newer model vehicles? there may be some launch control feature but i can say almost w/o a doubt that there is not a map switching control, atleast at the customers end, the maps have to be loaded in from some one with a tuner license as far as i know.

So I am to understand that you can do launch control and anti-lag with ECUtek. BUT, can you somehow access the ECU using other software to disable it for daily driving? Or, am I looking at a standalone for this functionality?
