I've read through a few threads, faqs and forums, but I wasn't able to find the exact answer I'm looking for. I don't plan on lowering my car anytime soon. I want to know that if I put the right size 18 inch wheels on my car with the right size tires, will I run into problems or will it be a direct fit...no adjustments. If I have to roll my fender or anything else, I'd rather put 17's on because I know I can find a set that are a direct fit.
So get 17's. There are definitely a lot more choices, and tires are cheaper. If you're looking at Rota, there are a lot of 17" choices, and all will fit without rubbing or need for adjustments with a 215/45-17 tire. If you stick with Rota and go with an 18", you'll want 215/40-18 tires, and they'll go right on without any other adjustments. Since you are running stock ride height, some 225 width wheels will fit, but something to keep in miond is that not all brands are the same. For instance, a Falken Azenis 225/45-17 is wider than almost all other brands of the same size.
