I believe the 99 motor has a low enough compression to last even up to 9-10 psi when you have enough fuel. I haven't read much about 00+ motor, and certainly I have heard that 03+ motors are weaker. I don't think with enough fuel I would try anything more than 8 on my 00 motor unless someone has done it and still has the original shortblock. Granted, mine wasn't turbo'd for the first 114K KM and I drove quite hard even on the streets
