interesting....

well from what ive heard....
the ej22t stock pistons can only hold 12 psi
and so i was advised to upgrade them....

which would be smart, if i wanted to go for some higher boost in the future

so if im gonna get better pistons put in the block...
i might as well do the piping so that its ready to handle more power also
instead of getting custom piping etc... and then having to spend money in that area again

however.....
i wanted to keep my stock catback or muffler at least....for the time being
ive had my bad experiences with loud exhausts and civics (or maybe it was just the civic)

is that possible with a wrx downpipe? to keep my stock backpiping?
if not, i guess id have to use wrx/sti back piping, but will i be able to bolt my stock muffler to that?

.....im assuimg those are both "no's" and youll tell me to get a borla hush or somehting if i want quiet...

*edit: ive been talking to a shop near by about the swap....and wow i learn so much everyday. anyhow, their selling a ej22t (complete) for $1000CDN
i dont need a complete swap obviously....just the block....
but he said the block on that motor needs new bearings anyhow....
so it seems like kind of a waste to me, but give me your opinions.....
and i knwo someone who is selling a ver5 sti shortblock with a spun bearing
is that worth picking up? would it be a better option than the ej22t block?
will that mate to my heads? if so what will it do to the compression.

sorry for more noob questions, and thanks again for the knowledgeable replies.
