+1. Although I will advise against it. Best recommendation is have a professional do it. If you want to attempt it, though, I would recommend using bondo or similar product FIRST. Then sanding it down, yadda yadda. I know I used a LOT of layers to fix bubbles in the paint and this and that, and it looks very obvious in some places if you're looking for it. Needless to say, I like the look, but the quality is not up to par.

If you are confident in your painting abilities, go for it. Otherwise, get your pro painter buddy and ask him a favor
