Most likely you're fine going at least 5k.
ALaDDiN, 5/30 shears down a lot more than 10/30 of the same oil. I'd use 10/30, unless you live in the Antarctic.
Charge, they're measuring it by oil analysis: wear metal are still high around 10k on some, IIRC, but calm down after that.
timmah, purolator makes, in general, excellent filters. They have proven to have an excellent design and material quality, 2nd best flow rate (behind K&N), and one of the best filtration rates (and the overall best combination of flow and filtration without compromising either). Oil analysis doesn't lie, and Purolators bring in consistantly stellar UOA's. Keep in mind the Pureones aren't as good necessarily.
