All car models have issues, just some more than others. It's all comes down to your priorities in the tradeoff betwwen reliability, performance, safety, price, luxury etc.

Our X-Country had a few minor electrical problems, now hopefully permanently fixed (some under recall) but the combination of luxury and safety makes it worthwhile. At the time there was no competition. However, I'd still like to give Subaru a year or two to get the glitches out of the WRX.
