Default Torn between Crucial Racing shorty DP and Cobb high-flow DP

Currently I have a stock gutted UP, helix catted DP mated to stock catback, and AP stage 2. However, I think I am only getting a barely better low-end torque than stock. When I accelerate from a stop to redline I could still feel a turbo lag as the car suddenly pulls much harder past 3k rpm.
Some people told me that the placement of the cat in the helix catted dp is not optimal because it's too close to the turbo. So I am thinking about getting either a cobb high-flow dp or a crucial racing dp mated to the stock 3rd cat. Which one would give me a better low-end response? Or is my lack of low-end a result of missing a 3" catback? I searched and searched but no one ever directly mentioned this topic (regarding the placement of the cat vs. low-end torque).
