After trolling this forum and sending out a few PMs I think I have come to a decision.
I live on the East now and have tuned the car for 93 octane gas. I知 moving to California this summer and am looking towards a 50/50 water/meth setup to help bridge the gap between 93 and 91 octane.
My main goal is reducing knock while keeping similar power. Of course I will experiment with a more aggressive tune but I would be happy just being able to run the same boost/timing I have now. While the progressive kits look nice, I think I知 going to be fine with a single stage of injection starting at 15psi. I知 going to try that combo first, then go from there.
15psi is an arbitrary number but I知 just looking for that pinch of detonation resistance at high load while not having to worry about filling the water/meth tank obsessively. Who knows, I may just try water first.
I知 going to go with the coolingmist 150psi pump kit and also get the clog nozzle detector. I probably won稚 use the included boost switch because I値l use the utec spare solenoid output. Who knows, turboxs might surprise me and update STI firmware to at least have the same features WRX firmware has.
I知 going to first use the stock IC tank but it looks like I will have to run new lines. No big deal. After I get used to this system and think I want the other features I値l just buy vari-cooler. I知 looking forward to installing the kit. This should be fun.
