Did some tuning this past week.. In my car (2.0, VF30, Pinks, u/p, turbo-back and pulley) we were able to make a full 18lbs of boost by well under 4000rpm in second gear, as low as 3800 as i recall - I'll check the logs and post shortly...

So, why is this better. IF you can control / tune the GM solenoid (or anything similar that allows you to disconnect the wastegate from the turbo), then by all means do it. On my car, the wastegate remains disconnected from the turbo while boost is building until 14-15lbs is made, then snaps open to prevent serious overboosting.

The bottom line... about 1 hours tuning on my AEM PEMS with no adjustments to fuel, timing or peak boost and I can now spin the tires in first gear from 4000-5500 rpm...JUST from tuning the boost controller.
