My car had been sitting idle in the garage for about a week. I hopped into the car, started the engine and put the car into reverse. As I was backing out of the garage, I heard a kind of loud "clunk" sound like something was braking free. It didn't sound good. I investigated and couldn't visibly find anything wrong w/ the car, so I proceeded to back out and drive. It drove fine and I didin't notice anything. The only thing I can think of was the e-brake had gotten slightly rusty and didn't release properly. Any input would be appreciated.
Does your clunk occur when you bounce down from the garage floor level down to the driveway level?
If so, I have the same symptom and have not figured it out yet. It's to loud for me, that I can feel it through the armrest of the passenger seat (where I have my arm when backing out).
