Stage 1 does not make parts start falling off your car, and the dealer will never know you've flashed the ECU if you don't tell them.
I went to Stage 1 at ~26K miles, and wished that I had done it at 1K. It makes a big difference on the '04/'05 cars, and you'll definately notice the benefits on your '02. |
