Thanks for everyone's honest input!
When I tried to swap the charge/exploder itself, it looks like its clipped or pressed into the back of the RS's horn pad, no bolts or screws hold it in. It's also about 1.5 times the size of the STi one, which does 4 lil screws holding it to the back of the horn pad. I starred at both side by side for a good half hour, there's really nothing that can be done.
The connectors were different The RS exploder has wire comming out of it, to a yellow connector. The STi has the connector right in the back of it; no wires come out of it. It *almost* looked like you could just pull the wires out the back of the RS and plug it into the back of the STi, but unfortunately those 2 wires in the RS one are sauldered to the back of it. There's the option to cut and saulder the wires, but that could do more harm then good. It only takes mV to set off the airbag. And almost all the wiring and connections are gold or gold plated. Sauldering can throw off the voltage to the airbag. Either it'd never go off, or go off unexpectedly while driving.
As far as driving, I'll go 5 km/h, maybe 10, over the speed limit if I really wanna pass someone. Otherwise, I'm right back at the limit. (I have to be a good boy; thank you ICBC
) Driving style, I have long arms. You're height from the bottom of your foot, to the top of your head is suppose to be equal to your wingspan from the tip of your middle finger to the other. Well I'm 6' tall, but my wingspan is 6'4". So to be comfortable, I'm almost 3 ft away from the steering wheel. And I'm always buckled up.
I've talked it over with the friend I got the wheel off of, and I think at the very most, I'll try it out and go from there, and keep my RS wheel as back up, so I guess I can't make a bit of money back from the purchase of the STi wheel, but I could always put it back in.
